
Fernando Valladares
Fernando Valladares holds a PhD in biology from Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). He is Research Professor at the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and associate professor at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. He is a highly cited scientist (top 1% in Ecology), with more than 400 articles and books on his numerous investigations on the role of biodiversity and the impacts of climate change and human activities on ecosystems. In 2021 he received the Jaime I Award in the category of Environmental Protection as well as the BBVA Foundation Environmental Communication Award. His concern for the environmental crisis has pushed him to actively disseminate about the impacts of climate change, biodiversity loss and different types of pollution in various media and in his channel The Health of Humankind in social networks.
