Technical and Advocacy Director for the National Glass Association (NGA)

Urmilla Jokhu-Sowell, P.E., is the Technical and Advocacy Director for the National Glass Association (NGA), the largest glass and glazing trade organization in North America. Urmilla received both a bachelors and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Texas Tech University and is a registered Professional Engineer. Urmilla advocates for and promotes the use of glass in buildings and collaborates with several global organizations on developing industry standards, best practices, and technical education. She has leadership and representative positions on national and international glass-related organizations, including American Society for Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), ASTM International, Glazing Industry Code Committee (GICC), and International Standards Organization (ISO).
